Alpha Club celebrities join ranks to raise money for carers
Through the Alpha Auction
Carers Trust is delighted to have formed a partnership with the Alpha Club to raise much-needed funds to help our work supporting unpaid carers across the UK.
The Alpha Club is a membership club that enables professionals to access prestigious events, as well as unparalleled networking opportunities. Its membership ranges from West End celebrities to sports stars and business professionals.
It also has a commitment to philanthropy, so Carers Trust was thrilled to be approached by the Alpha Club with the idea of an online auction of ‘money-can’t-buy events and gifts.
All donations and auction bids will go straight to Carers Trust as we work flat out with our Network of local carer services across the UK to support unpaid carers through the Coronavirus pandemic.
Launched this week, the auction is already proving extremely popular. Exclusive auction prizes include tickets to invite only events, as well as private celebrity meet and greet and VIP experiences.
Donations are pouring in with auction bids already nearing £25,000. A host of sports legends have already donated, including Kenny Logan, Tom Shanklin, Gabby Logan, Jonathan Davies, Neil Mellor, Chris Kirkland, Denise Lewis and Mark Foster. Sharing the news on Twitter and nominating their friends to donate has also raised awareness of Carers Trust and our work!
Anyone can make a donation via the Auction to Carers Trust, as well as bidding for an auction prize. And anyone making a donation of £20 or more is automatically entered into a special Prize Draw for the chance to win a luxurious family holiday to Florida
Welcoming the online auction’s launch, CEO of Carers Trust, Gareth Howells, said:
“Even before Coronavirus and lockdown, hundreds of thousands of unpaid carers across the UK were struggling with issues like lack of money, isolation and loneliness due to the need to stay at home to care for a loved one who cannot look after themselves. Coronavirus has made these problems much, much worse. That’s why Carers Trust is determined to be there for the UK’s carers, and at the moment they need our support more than ever before. The Alpha Auction will help us to do this, and we are hugely grateful to The Alpha Club for setting it up, and to everyone who has donated the incredible prizes to be won.”
The Auction will run right up until midnight on Wednesday 20th May 2020.
